Collection: Ostomy Skin Care

Ostomy skin care refers to the maintenance and protection of the peristomal skin—the area of skin directly surrounding a surgically created opening (stoma) on the abdomen.

Because this skin is constantly exposed to bodily waste (feces or urine) and medical adhesives from pouching systems, it is highly susceptible to irritation and infection. Proper care is essential to ensure the ostomy pouching system adheres correctly and the skin remains as healthy as the rest of the body.
